Spring is finally here!  This issue of ASCLA’s InterFace we will explore ways we can improve library services for people with disabilities.  Chris Jackson and Mary Frasier, who were part of the award winning Monroe County Library staff in Bloomington, IN talk about how ASCLA and ALA programming have helped their library improve services.  We’ll also learn more about a new cloud service called GPII which will allow libraries to offer more personalized accessibility services. ASCLA member Chris Corrigan, provides more information about the upcoming pre-conference opportunity “The ADA in your Library.” We’ll also find out about an exciting new project the Illinois State Library is spearheading called “Targeting Autism: A National Forum on Serving Library Patrons on the Spectrum.”   In this issue we will be introducing two new regular columns!  The first is the Members Spotlight, this column will highlight  the work and interests of an ASCLA member, as well as give them an opportunity to pose a question to the ASCLA membership for discussion.  Response will be included in the next issue of InterFace.  Finally, the first Armchair Traveler column will help you get in the spirit for ASCLA’s upcoming trip to Scotland in the fall.  Each issue Armchair Traveler will feature an eclectic mix of reading selections that highlight the people, landscape, culture and history of the destination of ASCLA’s upcoming trips.
