Welcome to the ASCLA Wiki! The Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA), a division of the American Library Association, enhances the effectiveness of library service by providing networking, enrichment and educational opportunities for its diverse members, who represent state library agencies, libraries serving special populations, multitype library organizations and independent librarians.

Wiki Training at Anaheim

Louise Gruenberg will be holding a wiki training session on Monday, June 30, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. In addition, she is hosting one-on-one or small group tech-help sessions at the Marriot or Hilton Starbucks. Attendees should bring their own laptops to the classes and, if possible, to the help sessions.

ASCLA President's Program at Anaheim

The "ASCLA President's Program" supported by Keystone Library Automation Systems (KLAS) and Playaway will focus on Universal Design as it relates to Staffing needs, Building Design, and Collection Management. The program is on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at the Hilton Anaheim, California Pavilion C Room. KLAS is underwriting the speakers travel. Playaway will provide the coffee service. Immediately following, there will be the ASCLA Awards Presentation and ASCLA Business/Update meeting at the Hilton Anaheim, Pacific BR D. This is an opportunity for members to hear what is happening across the division as opposed to only knowing what's happening within their own section. Certificates of appreciation will be given to ASCLA Committee Chairs. This will give ASCLA members an opportunity to network and determine if there is committee work that they want to participate in.
