Midwinter Issue of Interface 2014

Message from the ASCLA President

December 1, 2014

Dear ASCLA Colleagues,

I look forward to seeing many of you in person at Midwinter, our business meeting for the year. Although we do our best to have regular conference calls with interest group conveners, committee chairs and the executive committee I cherish the time spent in person with the many dedicated ASCLA members.

I am especially looking forward to the leadership session which will be held immediately after the Board I meeting from 10:00am – 11:30am, in the McCormick Place West – W192a. Along with sharing our thoughts on the upcoming ALA strategic plan and what role ASCLA can play in its development, the ASCLA Executive Committee is working very hard on offering a presentation on the multigenerational workforce. You have given your time and effort to ASCLA…this will be our way of saying “thank you”. Stay tuned for details of that portion of ASCLA events.

And of course I very much hope that you will be able to attend our ASCLA Happy Hour on Friday, 7-8pm at the Renaissance Blackstone – Bar Lower Lounge (cash bar). This will be a great informal way to kick off the conference. Bring a friend (or two!)

I hope that you will take advantage of everything that ASCLA has to offer, both at the conference and year-round. Encourage others in your workplace to join ASCLA as well. We are a strong and caring organization because of our  members and staff.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Moeller-Peiffe

ASCLA President
